Editorial policy
United Cinema Journal aims to make claims that readers can follow back to the film, the production context or a clearly identified source. We separate what is on screen from what we infer, and make room for uncertainty when details are not established.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check names, credits, dates and technical descriptions against reliable material before publication. When an article interprets a scene, it points to the relevant images, sounds or structure and presents the interpretation as an argument, not a proven account of the filmmaker's intention. We do not claim access to private production information.
Independence and partners
Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and partners do not approve editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or unclear description, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making substantive corrections clear to readers.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. We identify such images where they appear and do not present them as documentary photographs or evidence of a real film scene.
A film is made one choice at a time
We start with what can be seen and heard on screen, then ask what a creative choice does. Close attention beats grand claims.
